Exploding hearing aid batteries warning
The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency has issued a warning about ZeniPower mercury-free hearing aid batteries which have a low risk of exploding during use or if depleted. In summary the advice is to stop using the batteries manufactured by Zhuhai Zhi Li Battery Company Ltd which have certain best before dates.
The Agency says the affected batteries are best before 08-2018 and 09-2018, the date appears on the outer blister packaging (see picture) If there is any doubt do not use batteries from this manufacturer.
It is suggested that clients should be made aware of the contents of the attached circular.
