Why Join BSHAA?

The British Society of Hearing Aid Audiologists is a Society that represents and promotes the private hearing aid profession in the UK.

BSHAA is committed to professional development and plays an important role in the ever-changing world of consumer care and hearing instrument fitting and provision.

Regular contact is maintained with other appropriate organisations engaged in the wide spectrum of audiological disciplines and consumer affairs including the HAC and HPC.

A wide variety of support activities are regularly organised by BSHAA to ensure the membership receive up to date information regarding their profession. Educational support is provided to assist members in keeping up to date with evolving technology and latest developments in the provision of hearing instruments and audiology. Our rules for CPD are consistent with the HPC's CPD requirements and support BSHAA members' compliance with the HPC's standards for continuous professional development. The support activities also provide an excellent forum for dispensers to exchange ideas with other audiologists and Registered Hearing Aid Dispensers.

• Being a part of the largest group of professionals in private hearing care in the UK.  With over 1200 members here and around the world BSHAA is a well respected organisation in the audiological world.
• Being able to use the letters MSHAA or FSHAA after your name. When a client searches for a hearing care provider they can see instantly that you are a member of the society. 
• Being able to display the BSHAA logo in your business advertising. Being a member is a sure way  of reassuring your customers of your commitment to the professional values the society promotes for the hearing care profession. 
• Receiving the quarterly magazine,  BSHAA News. This prestigious publication is only available to members and includes technical articles, news from the society, stories about members, about new products and business developments as well as advice and professional guidance. It is also a source of news on job opportunities within Hearing Aid Audiology. 
• Having access to the member's section of the society's website, www.bshaa.com . This is also a fund of information about the profession and its development and where you can find a variety of business tools including marketing support, advice on writing press releases and building relationships in your community.
• Being included in the online Find a Dispenser section of www.bshaa.com . As a Registered HAD and member your name and business details can be included in this public search engine on the website. It is the facility most used by surfers visitng the website and can be a regular source of clients for you. 
• Being given special rates at regular education seminars and masterclasses. BSHAA undertakes to provide ongoing professional development and education at reasonable cost at accessible venues around the country. Members will enjoy discounted delegate rates at these events.
• Being able to qualify as a BSHAA Fellow. By following an approved learning path you can upgrade your membership to the status of Fellow of the society entitling you to use the initials FSHAA after your name.
