Dr Rakesh Chopra MS DNB FRCS FRCGP

 

Dr Chopra is a nationally recognized teacher of ENT in Primary Care, a GP in St Helens, and has been a GPwER in ENT for the St. Helens and Knowsley NHS Trust for the last 18 years.

He had nearly 14 years’ experience in hospital-based ENT prior to that. Dr Chopra has been extensively involved in the development and teaching of ENT in General Practice. His models and published pathways in ENT have gained wide appeal and are now used all over the country. He has conducted the annual ‘ENT in Primary Care’ course for the Mersey chapter of the RCGP for the 12 years prior to lock down. He does ENT triage for St Helens, Warrington, and Knowsley.

Additionally, he is an ENT tutor for Mediconf, Pulse Live, and has also NB Medical ‘Hot topics’ group course. He was invited to teach at the GP retraining program in the West of Scotland. He has contributed articles for the Pulse and GP magazine and the BIDA journal.

Dr Chopra has multiple international publications in ENT. He has been the referee for the ENT section of the Journal of the Royal Society for Promotion of Health, has a degree module in Allergy from the National Respiratory Training Centre. He is a council member for the GP section of the Royal Society of Medicine.

Dr Chopra has chaired and taught at the RCGP, London, ODE Conference, for the last 7 years running. Besides medicine, he has a wide range of interests, including playing music. He has published two novels.
