HAD Standards of Proficiency

The Health and Care Professions Council publishes standards of proficiency for all its registrant groups which toegether with the generic standards set out the minimum level of professonal standards which our members must work to achieve safe and effective practice.    The Council stresses that these are the “threshold standards” they consider necessary to protect members of the public. They set out what a student must know, understand and be able to do by the time they have completed their training, so that they are able to apply to register with the HCPC. Once on the Register HADs must meet those standards of proficiency if they are to be allowed to continue to practice.
