HCPC seeks hearing aid dispensers for visitor roles

The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) is looking for hearing aid dispensers to visit and assess education providers’ training programmes.

Visitors are responsible for visiting and assessing existing and proposed education and training programmes delivered by education providers. They undertake work for approximately five to 10 days a year, with a visit normally taking two days. There are also monitoring responsibilities.

Visitors make a real difference to the work we do. There is the opportunity to get involved and help to safeguard people using our registrant’s services by ensuring education and training programmes meet our standards. Visitors also provide recommendations to the HCPC’s Education & Training Committee regarding the approval or ongoing approval of programmes

To become a visitor, dispensers need to be on the HCPC Register. They must have an understanding of Quality Assurance in Higher/Further Education or a clinical environment, and also teaching and learning and assessment in educational/clinical environments. They will also need to have excellent oral and written communication skills.

They must be registered with the HCPC, and have the ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders. Training will be provided and a fee will be paid, as will travel and accommodation expenses in accordance with the HCPC Partner Expense Policy.
