International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating women’s achievements, raising awareness to women’s inequality and campaigning to accelerate gender parity. According to the World Economic Forum, gender parity will not occur in our lifetimes, it is predicted that the global gender gap will close in 99.5 years. Women worldwide deserve equal rights and opportunities which requires a future free from stigma and stereotypes. Today, as always, there is a call for action worldwide for further progressive mindsets and inclusive behaviours to be cultivated.
Through BSHAA’s Equalities Committee’s continued efforts to ensure the unique challenges experienced by marginalised communities are acknowledged, we want to mark International Women’s Day. We want to share with our members an honest conversation held by some of the women on BSHAA Council touching on the realities of working women in the industry through our new podcast Ear Talk lead by Dr. Elizabeth Adesugba. Let us know what you think and Happy International Women’s Day.
