BSHAA members can earn 19 CPD points at BIHIMA’s The Future of Hearing Technology conference in May.
The exciting new event – which features a workshop programme from BSHAA and the Society’s AGM – takes place at Edgbaston Cricket Ground on Friday 11 and Saturday 12 May.
Eighteen CPD points are available from the excellent speaker, workshop and exhibition programme, plus one more for attending the Society’s AGM.
The speaker programme will be headlined by the futurologist and “historian of the future” Dr James Bellini, and Nicola Palmarini, a leading researcher for IBM in the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in healthy ageing. Other speakers include Curtis Alcock, founder of the online hearing think tank Audira, and Dr Wayne Staab, founding partner and editor of the Hearing Health and Technology Matters website, who will address the important issue of the continuing role of trained audiologists in an increasingly commercialised and technology-driven industry.
A ‘sound experience’ exhibition, meanwhile, hosted by BIHIMA’s members, will showcase the latest in innovative hearing technology.
And BSHAA’s workshops will look at how we can learn from the way consumerism is changing attitudes and behaviours – likely to have as big an impact on future patterns of hearing care practice as technology itself.
BSHAA’s AGM will also be held at the event on Saturday 12 May at 12pm and all members are welcome. Members may claim another CPD point if they attend the AGM. The President, Chief Executive and other Council members will be available to answer questions from members.
There will also be two bonus CPD points for members who contribute a reflective article on the event which is chosen for publication in BSHAA People, the Society’s bi-monthly magazine for members. Articles should be sent to editor@bshaa.com by 21 May.
