Our future together

From our President…

As you are aware we welcomed Dr Graham Pullan to BSHAA late last year as our Chief Officer.  Together he and I want to focus on modernising BSHAA, remodeling the organisation and extending our appeal to an ever growing membership.

With that in mind Dr Graham Pullan and I have developed a completely new, flat internal structure that will bring the Board together as one cohesive unit.

Graham’s focus will be in delivering a complete review of all that BSHAA is.  With fresh eyes, he will be looking into every single part of BSHAA to ensure the whole of our Society is fit for purpose, able to adapt and respond to the needs of our members and changes within the Audiology industry going forward; at the same time acknowledging and respecting the role BSHAA has played for over 60 years.

Our Board wanted a ‘visionary’ type to really accelerate our work.  Graham’s predecessor, Prof. David Welbourn served BHSAA incredibly well, especially through the very difficult Covid period.  From this solid, secure base we now wish to grow our membership rapidly and expand our horizons.  Graham’s strategic focus and my quite straightforward business approach fit well together and will enable BSHAA to continue on its journey in the Audiology industry.

We have a formidable team of board members who are passionate about Audiology and represent the whole of our profession, selflessly sharing their experience and skills to help us all.  My colleagues on the Board have been so welcoming to my “get things done” approach, and we are all really excited to be attending regional face-to-face meetings again.

Graham, the Board and I will ensure BSHAA is relevant for our members, now and in the future, and it’s incredibly rewarding to have this opportunity to give back to the profession that I love so much.
