“The British Society of Hearing Aid Audiologists is the oldest professional society in the United Kingdom and Ireland devoted to maintaining and building on standards of audiological and hearing care.
More importantly, they are the ONLY professional society named by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), the regulator of the majority of audiologists in the UK.
Personally, I am proud to have served on Council for the last ten years and I am delighted to remain involved in influencing the way hearing care is delivered in the UK. Safe and accessible patient care is at the heart of what we do and as long as we keep that in focus then decisions around who, what, how or when become easier.
What remains challenging is enabling change in a profession where it is often resisted. This is one of the best examples of where your society works hard for you, even if we are not always quick to shout about it.”
