Practice Education Guidance (Health and Care Professions)

New guidance agreed by a consortium of professional bodies has been published to help foster excellence in practice education.    Seventeen organisations such as the College of Paramedics, the Association of Clinical Scientists, the College of Radiographers  and the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, joined BSHAA to collaborate and agree what is a statement of committment to foster a culture whereby all trainees have an inclusive, learning-centred, empowering and level appropriate experiences.

The guidance aims to encourage health and care professionals to reinforce the importance of their role as educators and facilitators of learning, increasing the recognition of this role amongst stakeholders. In doing so, they build upon the Health and Care Professions Council’s (HCPC) Standards of Education and Training, although the guidance is independent from this.
